Endurance Mechanics Receive Medical Accident Insurance Cover.
The Southern African Endurance Series is pleased to announce that effective immediately registered mechanics attending any of its race meetings will now be covered under the MSA Medical Accident Insurance.
In the continued quest to make the sport more inclusive, we have successfully engaged with Motorsport South Africa (MSA) to find a way of obtaining affordable cover for the extended team members in our series. Endurance racing is a team sport and more so than in other forms of the sport where our mechanics operate in a live pitlane, with extremely hot components and potentially under dangerous conditions when refuelling or working on race cars during an endurance race.
We strive to continue to work closely with Motorsport South Africa, the governing body of the sport to bring about change to the current landscape of the sport and this assistance by MSA goes a very long way towards achieving this goal for the mutual benefit to all teams involved in the Southern African Endurance Series.
For as little as R85-00 per annum, mechanics will receive the same care and treatment available to racing drivers to the value of R150 000 cover per incident.
